Internships
From time to time, internships may be available in different programs at the Health Department. These are open to college and graduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • In good academic standing.
  • A citizen of the United States, or lawful resident.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check.
  • TB test with negative result.

*Submission of application does not guarantee an interview.  Only candidates who are to be interviewed will be notified.

Special Project Internship
The West Central Health District is seeking an intern for a special project with the Columbus Health Department. This is for the summer and fall semesters.

Requirements:

  • Senior year or graduate student in good standing.
  • Majoring in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Sciences, or Public Health.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Excel, Power Point and Share Point.
  • Must be outgoing, detail oriented and knowledgeable of the current state of crime issues in Columbus.
  • Ability to work with community groups, elected officials and law enforcement.
  • Some work may be required in various community sites in Columbus.

Occasionally, certain programs may need volunteers.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, or lawful resident, pass a criminal background check, and have had a TB test within the last 12 months with negative result.
