DUTIES: Under limited supervision, this position will function as a Public Health Nurse/County Nurse Manager responsible for planning, developing, and managing clinical & population-based nursing services. Directs and supervises programmatic activities and clinical staff to ensure the provision of effective, efficient, and safe nursing care consistent with the patient’s level of need and in accordance with nurse protocols and/or policies and procedures. Evaluate, compile, and submit data and reports by established deadlines. Evaluate supplies, equipment, and medication needs and ensure adequate levels are maintained. Monitor clinic activity and modify schedules, as needed; coordinate peer reviews and protocol signature pages, mock drills, and emergency vaccine storage plans, as needed. Order and approve requisitions for program supplies and medications/vaccines. Collaborate with other health care providers and community agencies to provide clinical and population-based services. Identify training needs of clinical staff and ensure training is provided. Identify new community collaborations and/or revenue resources, when applicable. Participates in the monthly/quarterly Nurse Manager meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of PHN experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Three (3) years of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. A copy of college transcript is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional experience in public health nursing and completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
