Pay Grade: K District Entry/Hiring Salary: $41,800/year

LOCATION: Columbus Dept. of Public Health, 2100 Comer Ave.
Columbus, GA, 2nd Floor, Health & Human Services Center

DUTIES: Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and/or procedures to multiple county health departments within the West Central Health District. Functions as an expanded role nurse providing patient care consistent with patient’s level of need. Utilizes the EMR system to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement. Orders and dispenses medications based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol. Will serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated. This position will participate in Emergency Preparedness trainings/drills when available and completes all required annual trainings to function under the State of Georgia Nurse Protocols. *Travel is required for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. *A copy of college transcript is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and one (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
