PAY GRADE: H District Entry/Hiring Salary: $29,973.63/year
Salary based on education and experience.

LOCATION: Columbus Department of Public Health, District Clinical Services
2100 Comer Ave, Columbus, GA 31904, 2nd floor HHS Center

DUTIES: Under general supervision, provides mental health and substance abuse assessment and counseling of people living with HIV, with an emphasis on prevention and/or behavior modification. Works with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. Helps individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse, family, parenting, marital problems, suicide, stress management, problems with self-esteem, and issues associated with aging and emotional health. This position will work with patients in an infectious disease clinical setting. Travel to other Ryan White clinics within the West Central Health District is required.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Two (2) years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require certification or licensure. A copy of college transcript is required.
