Pay Grade: E District Entry/Hiring Salary: $20,472.39 / year
Salary is based on education and experience
LOCATION: Vector Control, Environmental Health, Columbus Department of Public Health, 2100 Comer Avenue, Columbus, GA 31904
DUTIES: Under direct supervision, this position will perform a variety of duties in support of the vector control team to include, but not limited to: Inspect breeding areas and apply insecticides/rodenticides to infected areas; measures, mixes, and stores insecticides and rodenticides; safely operates government vehicles and pest control equipment. Will also assist in emergency preparedness including Pandemic efforts and response. *Work hours for this position will be 5:30AM – 2:30PM, Monday – Friday. Some overtime may be available.
QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver’s license, clean MVR and be insurance eligible.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate to heavy physical activity and consistent exposure to working conditions that may interact with an employee’s medical or fitness condition. May involve heavy lifting (above 45 lbs.), pushing, pulling, extended climbing, crawling, bending, and/or operation of potentially dangerous equipment including motor vehicles
