PAY GRADE: H District Entry/Hiring Salary: $34,973.63/year
Salary based on education and experience

LOCATION: Ryan White Clinic, Columbus Health Department, 5601 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31904

DUTIES: Under general supervision, provides mental health and substance abuse assessment and counseling of people living with HIV, with an emphasis on prevention and/or behavior modification.  Works with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health.  Helps individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse, family, parenting, marital problems, suicide, stress management, problems with self-esteem, and issues associated with aging and emotional health. This position will work with patients in an infectious disease clinical setting.  *Travel to other Ryan White clinics within the West Central Health District is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Two (2) years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower-level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent.  Note:  Some positions may require certification or licensure.  A copy of college transcript is required.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency.
