LOCATION: Dental Health, Columbus Health Department, 5601 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, GA 31904

DUTIES: Under direct supervision, this position will assist the dentist in chair-side dentistry. Will greet and prepare patients, take all necessary x-rays, sterilize and set-up instrument trays, prepare dental materials and assist dentist during dental procedures. Properly maintain dental equipment. Provide post-operative and maintenance instructions as prescribed by dentist. Perform a variety of general secretarial and receptionist duties to include, but not limited to, answering phones, screening and scheduling patients, creating and updating computerized records, filing, etc. Responsible for effectively maintaining and monitoring Medicaid billing records. May perform other administrative duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Dental Asst. 1 – (Annual Salary: $25,207.23)
Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND Six months of experience in a dental setting. 

Dental Asst. 2 – (Annual Salary: $27,152.95)
Vocational/Technical degree in Dental Assisting from an accredited college AND Six months of experience as a dental assistant OR High School diploma or GED AND One year of experience in a dental setting. 

Dental Asst. 3 – (Annual Salary: $29,293.25)
Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND Six months of experience in a dental setting.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency.
