Clinical Coordinator (District)

SALARY: $58,547.06 Annually

LOCATION: District Administration, Columbus Department of Public Health; 2100 Comer Ave., Columbus, GA, 2nd Floor, Health & Human Services Center

DUTIES: Under general supervision, this position will serve as the CLIA Coordinator for the West Central Health District; responsible for ensuring completion of quarterly Proficiency Testing and serving on the statewide CLIA Workgroup. Additional responsibilities to include, but not limited to serving as the LabCorp Liaison between clinical staff and LabCorp; collaborating with colleges/universities to build ongoing relationships for student/intern placement; serving as a liaison between clinical staff and Emergency Preparedness to provide nursing input for emergency response, such as POD dispensing sites, emergency plans for each county, shelter response, etc. This position will assist with QA/QI follow-up on an ongoing basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health Nursing experience.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
