PAY GRADE: $51,811.56 Annually
LOCATION: Columbus Dept. of Public Health, 2100 Comer Ave., Columbus, GA, 2nd Floor, Health & Human Services Center
DUTIES: Under supervision, this position will provide a wide variety of nursing care in the community, usually from a mobile unit, as an extension of the county health department. Services will include, but not limited to administering various vaccines, including Flu, COVID, & Monkey Pox, perform finger sticks to screen for sexually transmitted diseases, lead, etc., blood pressure screenings and provide patient education & refer patients to community partners, when indicated. Will provide support to the county health departments with scoliosis screenings, immunizations audits, health fairs/community events, etc. Rotating after-hours and weekends required, as needed to accommodate community requests. This position will also provide support to the health department when no community events are scheduled.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. No experience required. *A copy of college transcripts is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and one (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
