DUTIES: Under general supervision, this position will teach groups and/or individuals on health education/promotion topics with an emphasis on senior populations within the 16 counties of the West Central Health District. Duties include, but not limited to: collaborating with the community to provide health and resource events, prepare & disseminate education & informational materials, provide information to the public regarding health concerns & resources, and assist with the development of Community Health Improvement Plans WCHD counties. *Requires flexibility to travel throughout West Central Health District counties. **Must have reliable transportation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Public Health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s Degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Senior Health. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, such as oral presentations, written reports, articles, and data entry. Must be able to establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners, coalitions, and stakeholders. Knowledgeable in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
