Full-Time Unclassified Position

SALARY: $35,387.99 Annually

LOCATION: Macon County Health Department, 110 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, GA 31068

DUTIES: Under direct supervision, this position will be housed at the Macon County Health Dept and will be responsible for clinical and laboratory management to include, but not limited to:
•Ordering, collecting, recording, shipping, and managing labs.
•Monitoring and recording temperatures daily, accesses patient immunization record and GRITS.
•Administer immunizations and print immunization records.
•Manage inventory, collect, record and report patient’s vital signs.
•Place and read Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST’s), perform hearing, vision, and dental screenings
•Provide Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for appropriate TB patients.
•Participate with health fairs and community outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Public Health LPN 2 – (Hire-in salary – $35,387.99)
Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and two (2) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 1 (HCT110) or position equivalent.

Public Health LPN 3 – (Hire-in salary – $38,926.79)
Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and four (4) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 2 (HCT111) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least four (4) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Public Health experience.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
