Internships and Volunteers

From time to time, internships may be available in different programs at the Health Department. These are open to college and graduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • In good academic standing.
  • A citizen of the United States, or lawful resident.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check.
  • TB test with negative result.

Submission of application does not guarantee an interview.  Only candidates who are to be interviewed will be notified.

Diabetes Prevention Program Intern
An intern is needed to work with our Diabetes Prevention Program. Duties will involve assisting with the weekly classes and recruitment.    Please complete intern application and agreement, and send with your current resume and unofficial transcript to: Pamela.Kirkland@dph.ga.gov.

This internship will begin in January, 2020.

 

Medical Reserve Corps
An intern is needed to work with our Medical Reserve Corp (MRC). Duties will involve training and recruiting volunteers, creating a volunteer newsletter, and other emergency preparedness tasks. This internship will begin in January, 2020.

 

Multimedia Intern
We are currently seeking a multimedia intern to work with the public relations/information coordinator on several projects to help market the services of the health department.  Duties include social media, website updates, creating flyers, brochures and other print and promotional marketing materials, help with monthly newsletter, events, and video production.

Volunteers
Occasionally, certain programs may have the need for volunteers.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, or lawful resident, pass a criminal background check, and  have had a TB test within the last 12 months with negative result. Submission of application does not guarantee placement.
