$35.00 per hour
May work up to a max of 29 hours per week
LOCATION: Macon County Health Department, 110 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, GA 31068
DUTIES: Under supervision, this position will be housed at the Macon County Health Department and will be responsible for providing professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and/or procedures to include, but not limited to:
- Provide nursing care consistent with the patient’s level of need.
- Utilize the EMR system to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement.
- Order and dispense medications based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol.
- Will serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated.
- Within 2 years of hire, function as an expanded-role nurse to provide nursing care consistent with the patient’s level of need.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification. No experience required. *A copy of college transcripts is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and one (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD).
