In order to comply with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (OCGA) 50-36-1, a Verification of Residency for Public Benefits Application must be completed by all new applicants for Food Service Permits, Swimming Pool Permits, Tourist Accommodation Permits, Waste Removal and Disposal Permits, Body Art/Tattoo Establishment Permits, and Body Artist/Tattoo Artist Permits.

NEW State Body Art Rules and Regulations – Effective 10/6/2023
On March 6, 2023, the Department passed Chapter 511-3-8, Rules and Regulations for Body Art. Implementation of the Chapter will begin on October 6, 2023, six months after the effective posting date.
EXISTING artists and studios (meaning, currently permitted as of October 6, 2023) will be given until October 6, 2024, a 12-month period, to meet the new requirements. Until artists and studios are in compliance, all existing body art studios and artists should continue to comply with local health department rules and regulations.
NEW Artists and Studios (not currently permitted as of October 6, 2023) must follow Georgia DPH NEW Body Art application process for Artist certification and Studio permitting.
