Full-Time Unclassified Position

SALARY: $30,906.44 Annually

LOCATION: Children’s Medical Services, Crisp County Health Department, 111 E. 24th Ave., Cordele, GA 31015

DUTIES: Under general supervision, this position will be housed in Crisp County and will perform a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative functions in support of the CMS (Children’s Medical Services) program staff. Duties include, but not limited to, answering phones, taking messages, filing, copying, making medical records, opening & distributing mail, verifying Medicaid payments, scheduling and/or changing appointments for clients, providing appointment reminders, preparing charts for clinic, transcribing notes & meeting minutes. Will also request medical records from other facilities, when indicated. *This is not a remote position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED AND (4) Four years of progressively complex office or administrative experience.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: Public Health experience; medical office experience. Computer experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry, etc.). Must demonstrate excellent customer service and oral communication skills, to effectively interact with all levels of departmental personnel and outside customers. Work requires the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
